Who Is The Real Jesus?

The real Jesus is the Yeshua the Messiah – the Jesus of the Bible.  Many religions have watered down who the real Jesus is and have substituted Him for a god of their own making.  According the Bible the true Jesus is 100% fully God and 100% fully man.  His nature cannot be watered down or divided.  If Jesus is not fully human He could not be a perfect sacrifice for humans.  If Jesus is not fully God He would not have power to conquer sin and grant eternal life to humans. Jesus is not “a god” but the one and only true God: Yahweh.

Jesus is fully God:

  • Jesus claimed to be equal with God (John 5:16-18)
  • Jesus claimed to have life in Himself just as God has life in Himself (John 5:26)
  • Jesus claimed that God sent Him to be the Savior in fulfillment of Old Testament prophecies (John 5:36-40………Isaiah 53:1-12; 7:14; 9:6-7; Micah 5:2)
  • Jesus claimed that He is God  (Compare John 8:58 with Exodus 3:14)
  • The Bible claims that Jesus is fully God over and over (Matthew 1:23; Mark 2:5-12; Luke 8:38-39; John 1:1-2, 14; 5:18; 10:30; 20:27-29; Romans 9:5; Philippians 2:5-6; Colossians 1:15-19; Titus 2:13; Hebrews 1:3,8; I John 5:20; Revelation 1:17; 22:12-13)

 Jesus is fully man

  • Jesus was born of a woman (Galatians 4:4-5; Matthew 1:18
  • Jesus has a human body (Luke 2:40; John 1:14)
  • Jesus has a human mind (Luke 2:52)
  • Jesus has a human soul (Matthew 26:38)
  • Jesus has human emotions (Matthew 8:10; John 11:35)
  • Jesus was tempted like a human and still was without sin (Hebrews 4:15)

What Is The Gospel Of Jesus Christ?

The gospel is the very person and work of Jesus Christ the Messiah and is clearly expressed in I Corinthians 15:1-8.  “Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand.  By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.  For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.”  NIV

  • Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures
  • Christ was buried  (provides proof of His death)
  • Christ arose on the third day according to the Scriptures
  • Christ was physically seen alive and experienced by hundreds of witnesses

What Jesus accomplished through His death and resurrection is described in Romans 3:24-25 “But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify.  This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.  God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished—he did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.”  NIV

  • Jesus provides a perfect sacrifice of atonementIn order to satisfy God’s demand for perfection,  Jesus took the punishment for the sins of many through dying as a substitute sacrifice and rising from the dead.  By this sacrificial act, Jesus turned away God’s wrath because of sin and saves those who believe from the just sentence of everlasting separation from God in hell.
  • Jesus provides perfect redemptionJesus frees people from their sins with His powerful blood, rescuing them from being in bondage and slavery to sin.  Jesus gives people the power to do what is right in God’s eyes.  His blood provides freedom and victory over sin and is as still as powerful today as it was when He died on the cross!!
  • Jesus provides perfect justificationBecause Jesus paid for sin through His death and resurrection and satisfied God’s standard of perfection, God turns and makes humans right with Himself.  In other words, the human’s relationship with God that was separated by sin can now be restored.  Jesus can make a person righteous to stand before a holy God and have an intimate relationship with Him through His death and resurrection!
